Held from April 8 to 13 in Milan, the Salone del Mobile 2025 once again confirmed its position as the world’s leading platform for furniture and design innovation. With over 2,100 exhibitors from 37 countries and more than 370,000 visitors from 146 nations, the event stood as a powerful reflection of design’s global significance – and of our current times.
What remains? Above all, a sense that living today is more than just style – it’s an attitude. The Salone became a stage for a new kind of sensuousness in design. Soft shapes, plush textures and bold curves set the tone. Comfort met character – often with a playful wink.
Instead of classic product presentations, many brands created immersive environments that touched, surprised or amused. Design became more emotional, more narrative – almost theatrical. At the same time, sustainability was not presented as a trend, but as an integral part of contemporary design thinking. Recycled materials, earthy tones and natural structures shaped the visual language of the fair.
In a world increasingly dominated by digital interactions, the tactile, sensory experience of spaces and objects is gaining new relevance. Design offers a counterbalance – and gives people a sense of stability and wellbeing in uncertain times.
Another striking feature this year was the close dialogue between interior and fashion. Luxury brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Loewe showcased their creations in historic Milanese palazzi – objects positioned somewhere between craftsmanship, art and interior culture. A stylistic convergence that blurred the boundaries.
And above all, one theme stood out: the human being. Needs, emotions and lived realities moved into focus – in a design language that not only looks good, but feels good.
And, what does a true sense of home mean to you?
